The Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) is an extensive document submitted by the SRCC for approval by three environmental agencies: the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (ME DEP), the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, and the US EPA.
The QAPP contains all aspects of the Water Quality Monitoring Program, including site locations and coordinates, detailed site descriptions, tested parameters, and monitoring protocol. This 144 page document must be submitted for renewal every five years, and was most recently renewed on May 29, 2020.
The QAPP underwent major changes in 2020, to guarantee the validity of all data derived from the RIVERS program and adhere to the Maine DEP’s standards for all volunteer programs in Maine.
